The application to join the waitlist may be found HERE.  Please note that we do not roll over waitlists from year to year. If not admitted for the 2024-2025 school year, you will need to reapply for the 2025-2026 school year.

    • If your child is not admitted, you will receive a waiting pool notification. Should openings become available after the February 13th enrollment deadline has passed, we will consider waiting pool applicants and notify you should an appropriate spot for your child become available.
  • Application Priorities of WSYC

    1. Currently enrolled students are given first priority in application to WSYC, followed by:

    2. Siblings of currently enrolled students and active members of Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC). WPC defines an active member as “a person who, in Christ, has been baptized, has been received into the membership of the church, and who participates in the church’s work,

    worship, and financial support.”

    3. Community members (all those applicants who are not noted above) have the remaining priority

    in application.

    4. When the number of applicants exceeds the number of spaces available in any age group, the

date and time of application may be one factor used to determine placement. Other

considerations may include legacies (parent or formerly enrolled siblings WSYC attendance) and

    gender/age range balancing in classrooms.

  • Classroom Placements

Regarding all class placement, a reasonable effort is made to balance gender and other factors within

each class to ensure the best placement of each child.

Requests for specific teachers are not among the factors contributing to the child’s placement. It is not possible for us to field specific teacher requests equitably. We ask that in fairness to your fellow parents that you not make such requests. Please know that our faculty is highly qualified and attuned to individual children’s personalities and learning styles. We consider the best placement for each child and the composition of each classroom carefully. Our end goal is setting up the students and teachers for success. Feel free to send us an email with specifics if you feel your child has particular circumstances of which we should be aware. Parents are notified of each child’s class assignment and teachers’ names in August each year.

When a particular age-level is enrolled at full capacity, all remaining applicants are added to a waiting pool for a given age-level. A child may remain in the waiting pool during the current academic year. The waiting pool does not carry over from one school year to the next. Students in the waiting pool should re-apply for each academic year. If you decide you are no longer interested in remaining in the waiting pool, we ask that you kindly let us know.

To accept a child's enrollment in WSYC, parents must return completed enrollment contracts with a deposit of $550 per child. Of the non-refundable $550 deposit, $500 is applied to the academic year tuition and $50 is the annual Activities Fee. On acceptance of enrollment, parents are bound by the terms of the contract to fulfill tuition payment for the entire school year(September through May) and tuition payment is required accordingly.

If it becomes necessary for parents to withdraw a child from the program after the enrollment contract is signed and at any time during the year, parents must notify the Director, Logan Lyman, in writing at loganlyman@wsycnashville.org as soon as possible.

Tuition is only refunded or a family is released from the contract at the Director’s discretion when the child’s place can be filled by a subsequent applicant who is accepted into the program and the withdrawn student’s obligation is thereby fulfilled.
